Need for pattern testers: Wings Cut Back Tunic (Version A & B)

The Wings Cut Back Tunic is a simple summer knit tunic with a comfortable fit, perfect for warm summer days and is perfect when teamed up with leggings. The version A features the side pockets, which were designed to allow for color blocking or combining prints. The neckline and armholes are finished with binding for a beautiful and professional look. Lots of room for creativity!

This tunic will be quickly sewn up, especially if you have a coverstitch machine and binder. But if you do not have these, don't despair. You can make perfect binding with a serger, sewing machine, and ball point twin needle.

The Wings Cut Back Tunic pattern (Version A) was tested by the Ukrainian and Russian testers (see the photos below).  But now I need to test the English version of the pattern.

And here are my versions of the tunic, which my daughter wore the last summer.

I'm in need of 1 pattern tester with intermediate up to advanced sewing experience for each version and for each size: 18M-2T, 3T-4T, 5T-6T, 7T-8T, 9T-10T.

Testing opens Saturday, January 28th and will end Sunday, February 4th.

What you have to do:

1.Join the closed Facebook Group where all communication around testing will take place.
2. Make the tunic following the instructions as closely as possible, calling attention to any areas where they are unclear.
3. Complete the project by Sunday, February 4th.
4 Give good constructive feedback on the fit and the quality of sewing instructions.
5. Provide at least 2 clear non-watermarked styled and posed pictures that highlight the tunic in action by the end of testing (preferably in the square format for sharing on Instagram).

FABRIC SUGGESTIONS:

If you decide to make slots on the back, the best fabric choice is jersey knit fabric.
Make sure that the fabric has a good stretch and 5% spandex. If you don’t want to make slots on the back, you may sew the tunic with interlock or  100% cotton jersey knit fabric also.
You may need an extra fabric for matching prints or stripes, or if you are using a directional print.

FOR BOTH VERSION

You’ll need strips of rib knit fabric 13/8” (35mm) wide cut so that the ribs are perpendicular to the length of the strip. These strips have to be long enough to bind the neckline and armholes with the shoulder straps. You can use 100% cotton rib knit or rib knit with spandex (5%), which is preferable.

NOTIONS AND TOOLS

•          Thread to match
•          Sewing machine
•          Serger
•          Coverstitch machine
•          Raw finish or clean finish binder. I use the raw finish binder (strip size: 1-3/8” (35mm), finish size: 1/2” (11mm)
•          Printer, A4 paper (9pcs), glue or adhesive tape (to print and join the pattern)
•          Scissors
•          Iron
•          Safety pin

If you want to be a tester and have a free time to spare in the next week to sew the Wings Cut Back Tunic for your little girl, please fill out the form below. I will send you the chosen version in pdf file with all the sizes on Friday, 27th.

Thank you for your interest! I'm overwhelmed with submission and have closed the application for now.
